Barn Owl (FL)

Document Actions
Species: Barn Owl (Tyto alba)
Location: Belle Glade, FL
Status: Three fledged

April 22 - Hiding in the corner, the chicks appear to be aware of the camera lens. Unfortunatley, the camera stops operating after today, but we learn from  the cam hosts that the three nestlings fledged successfully a few weeks later.

April 17 - The second chick from the left appears to be much smaller than the other three. This could be because it is crouching down or because it was the last egg to hatch, and therefore several days younger than the rest of the brood.

April 16 - Our first images of nesting Barn Owls reveal four chicks, somewhere between three and four weeks of age.
