2007 Target: $15,500 for live streaming
Please help us keep the CAMs going! Increased CAM viewing has greatly increased our streaming fees and put us over budget for 2007. If you can afford an additional donation, this would help to demonstrate the support for and viability of our program.
Streaming video over the Internet requires a lot of
"bandwidth." Bandwidth is the amount of information that
can be transmitted over a certain period of time, usually in seconds. To
equitably cover expenses, Cornell University charges The Lab of Ornithology for
its monthly bandwidth charges. Before we began streaming, our bandwidth charges
were approximately $20 per month. Since streaming, they have risen to an
average of $900 per month per cam! In order to continue our
streaming cam program we need your help.
