Report observations of Orange-breasted Falcon

Birders are encouraged to report all observations of Orange-breasted Falcon to eBird. If looking for Orange-breasted Falcons, please consider bringing a GPS unit to provide more precise locations. Best places

Although Orange-breasted Falcons are widespread, they are local and often difficult to find. For this reason, most birders see their first Orange-breasted Falcons in Belize or Guatemala at protected nesting locations. Two of the better places to look are:

The Peregrine Fund conducted ground and aerial surveys for cliff-nesting Orange-breasted Falcons during the spring of 1999 and 2000 in Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama and failed to detect any birds away from the Darién Province, Panama (Thorstrom 2002). Still, they suggested that efforts should be made to look for tree-nesting birds in the following locales:
