From Ithaca:

Take Route 13 north. Look for the sign for Sapsucker Woods, the first intersection after Warren Road. Turn right onto Sapsucker Woods Rd. and follow signs to the visitor parking area.

From Syracuse:

Take Route 81 south to exit 12, follow Route 281 south to Route 13 south. In Dryden turn right at the 4-way stop then travel about 6 miles (still on Route 13). Continue straight through the traffic light at Route 366, then turn left onto Hanshaw Rd. at the next traffic light. Turn right at the stop sign to continue on Hanshaw Rd., and turn right again onto Sapsucker Woods Rd. after about 1 mile (look for binocular signs as you approach.) The Johnson Center is about a mile down Sapsucker Woods Rd. on the left.

From Cornell University:

Take Warren Road north from Forest Home. Turn right at the four-way stop onto Hanshaw Road. Continue 0.8 miles, turn left onto Sapsucker Woods Road, follow to the end. Follow signs to the visitor parking area.


TCAT Bus Service:

TCAT Route 41 has regular stops between campus (various locations) to the intersection of Hanshaw and Sapsucker Woods Rds. Service to the circle in front of the Lab’s Visitor Center entrance is available on demand. Here is how to get service all the way to/from the Lab:

Campus to Lab Service:

When you get on the bus, just ask the driver to take you all the way to the Lab and he/she will drop you at the circle.

Lab to Campus Service:

To schedule occasional pick-­‐ups at the Lab, please call TCAT (607-­277-­RIDE) one business day prior to the scheduled pick-­‐up.

To schedule regular (daily, weekly, etc.) pick-­‐ups at the Lab, you can set up a subscription by calling TCAT Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to ‐4:30 p.m. at (607­‐277-RIDE). Subscriptions need to be received one week in advance. If you do not need the service for any length of time you must call at least one day in advance to  cancel  your ride  for that day  or days.

If you need a last­‐minute pick­‐up, TCAT accepts same-‐day reservations when scheduling allows. They will do the best they can to accommodate short notice requests, but cannot guarantee a ride unless a reservation has been made on the business day before.

TCAT 41 stops at the Dairy Bar approximately 5 minutes after Schwartz.


TCAT 41 will also stop at any bus stop between Schwartz and the Dairy Bar.

Transportation to and from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology

Shuttle service between the Cornell Lab and campus is provided four times each day, Monday through Friday, during the academic year (excluding student breaks). The shuttle makes three stops on campus, at Corson-Mudd, Robert Purcell, and at the Dairy Bar. Please see the schedule below for specific times.
