Birding Festivals!

These are archived listings. For details on future events, please see our Upcoming Bird Festivals and Events page.

Cooperation is a strategy as beneficial for birders as it is for birds, and nowhere is this more evident than at birding festivals. Field trip leaders keep in touch with one another so as many people as possible can see both the birds typical of the area and unusual species. Birders of all experience levels can share advice about optics and the best bird books, conservation tips, and fun stories. By working together, there are more eyes for spotting secretive species and birds passing quickly overhead. And car-pooling and sharing vans and buses allow participants to reduce the fuel burned per bird seen. Plus birding festivals are just plain fun.
