FeederWatch Electronic Newsletter

About the newsletter

Project FeederWatch provides an Electronic Newsletter, called PFWNews-L, to keep participants and others up-to-date on the latest FeederWatch news. Only FeederWatch staff post messages to this list, and messages are typically posted once or twice a month during the season, less often in the off-season. Subscribers can sign off of the list at any time by following the instructions below.

How to sign-up

To subscribe to PFWNews-L, the FeederWatch Electronic Newsletter, fill in the form below. Be sure to enter your full email address, and double check to be sure you enter the address correctly. When you're finished, hit the subscribe button. Once you are subscribed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail message.

Spam blockers will block this newsletter

If you have a spam blocking software on your computer, newsletter posts may be blocked. There are currently over 10,000 subscribers to this newsletter, so messages sent to subscribers can appear as spam (unwanted email messages) to many spam filters. If your filter allows you to choose addresses to receive email from, please set the program to allow messages from <feederwatch@cornell.edu>.

Signing-up for the newsletter does not register you to  participate in Project FeederWatch

Signing-up to receive the FeederWatch Electronic Newsletter is completely unrelated to whether or not you are signed up to participate in the Project FeederWatch. Once you sign up for PFWNews-L you will remain subscribed (unless your email address changes or you unsubscribe per instructions below) regardless of whether your participate in FeederWatch.  (Sign-up for Project FeederWatch here.)

Furthermore, your email address for PFWNews-L is not automatically entered into the Project FeederWatch online date entry system or into the Lab's membership database. Receiving newsletter messages does not indicate that your email address is correct in other places. The databases are kept separate to protect your privacy. In order to receive an automatic login name or password reminder (for online data entry), your email address must be kept up-to-date in the online database by following the links under the Options/Help button inside of Data Entry.

If your email address changes

If your email address changes, be sure to update your address in order to continue receiving posts in the future. First unsubscribe from your old email address by using your old email to send the unsubscribe message per instructions below. Then sign up your new address using the form above.
