Your ID number, login name, and password help protect your database submissions and also allow us to match you with your past FeederWatch observations.

Your FeederWatch ID number:

If you live in the U.S., you can find their ID number on the Welcome Letter that came in your Research Kit or on the Count Site Description Form if you received paper data forms in your kit. In Canada the ID number is printed on the Count Site Description Form or on the mailing label of the kit envelope.

Your ID number is a 4- to 6-digit number that was assigned to you by either the Cornell Lab of Ornithology (all U.S. participants) or by Bird Studies Canada (all Canadian participants).

If you are unable to find your ID number in your project materials, contact the FeederWatch office in your country for assistance.

Note: During the FeederWatch season, it takes up to three weeks for project materials to arrive. If you signed up for Project FeederWatch and paid your registration fee within the last three weeks, please wait for your project materials to arrive in the mail soon. If more than three weeks have gone by since you registered (between November and April) and your kit has not arrived, please contact the FeederWatch office in your country.

Your login name and password:

You select your own login name and password when you create an online profile the first time you submit data to FeederWatch or any other Lab of Ornithology project online. Returning participants or participants from other Lab projects, please use the login name and password that you have already created.

Did you forget your login name or password?

If your e-mail address is the same as the e-mail address in your online profile, you can request an automatic reminder of your login name and password by following the appropriate link on the login page or on the FeederWatch home page or by clicking here. An e-mail message containing your login name and password will be sent to the e-mail address that is listed on your online profile.

Be sure to update your profile whenever your email address changes so that you can take advantage of this look-up tool.

If your e-mail address has changed from what is in your online profile, contact the FeederWatch office in your country for a login/password reminder.
