How to submit photos to Project FeederWatch

We enjoy seeing participant’s photos and sharing them with other FeederWatchers through the web site, calendar, and other publications. All photos submitted to Project FeederWatch become the property of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and may be used in the Lab's print publications, products, web pages, or in other ways to support the education, outreach, and research programs of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Whenever we use one of your images, we will credit it with your name. Occasionally we may also use your city and state.

FeederWatch Photo Tips

  • Take pictures that feature feeders, feeder birds, feeder areas, and/or FeederWatchers during the FeederWatch season.
  • Use glossy finish on print photos.
  • For digital photos, only high-resolution photos (at least 1200 x 900 pixels) can be used in print, but low resolution is fine for web pages. Send photos in their original size and form, if possible.
  • Always send a digital image rather than a print of a digital image.
  • Label each photo, email message, or CD with your name, address, and FeederWatch ID number along with the date and location the photo was taken.
