Winter storms

Alice Kohr of Windsor, New York, sent us this photo of her feeders after an ice storm. She wrote, "It was comical to watch for a few minutes my birds attempting to reach the seed and suet. Needless to say, I quickly went out, broke the icicles off some of the feeders and brought the rest inside to thaw out in a dishpan."
Vern Dayhoff struggles to clear 38" of snow from his feeders in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Helen Campbell reported that her feeders in Wyantskill, New York, saw over 100 inches of snow during the 2002-2003 season.

The last count of the season for Jean Segerstrom of Nisswa, Minnesota, proved to be the most exciting. Large numbers of juncos began migrating through. As snow came in, the junco flock grew to over 200 birds.
