Great Gray Owls were on the move last winter, dropping further south than usual. John Crawford wrote about the owl above left, which visited his feeder area in Newmarket, Ontario, "It arrived in our FeederWatch area at about 8:00 a.m. in the morning, and left at about 2:00 p.m. Except for turning around once it never moved from its spot, about 15 feet from our feeders. It ignored the birds and they ignored it. The owl would occasionally watch the squirrels as they ran around under the feeders."
