Dark-eyed Junco
Juncos in the northeastern U.S. and adjacent Canada appear to have wintered further north in 2000-2001 than in previous winters. This can be seen in the maps, where there is a distinct band of blue (higher abundance) with a band of red (lower abundance) immediately below. This pattern is seen in all but 1 of the 6 maps on this page. The exception (bottom left map) shows essentially the same distribution of Dark-eyed Juncos in the fall of 2000-2001 as in the fall of 1997-1998.
