FeederCam® is located at the Treman bird feeding garden at the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology in Ithaca, New York. The garden features a number of bird feeders offering a variety of seed types and suet cakes.

The seed and suet used in the garden are generously provided by Wild Birds Unlimited. The feeders contain the Wild Birds Unlimited Supreme Blend (containing black-oil sunflower, striped sunflower, and safflower seeds), nyjer seed (also known as thistle), and suet cakes.
In addition to the feeders, a water feature attracts many birds to the garden. A nearby pond hosts waterfowl--ducks and geese often visit the garden in search of seed dropped by songbirds.

Providing cover is a key to attracting birds to your yard. Native plants and shrubs  provide food and cover for birds at the Lab's garden. Evergreen trees and shrubs serve as shelter from predators and the elements.

In order to protect birds from window strikes, we have installed netting over the windows at the Treman Bird Feeding Garden. Crop netting, available at home and garden stores, can be used to protect birds in your yard.
