The Bartels Theater


A state-of-the-art surround sound theater is open to the public in the Imogene Powers Johnson Center for Birds and Biodiversity at the Lab of Ornithology. This 10-seat theater gives visitors a glimpse into the lives of birds and the goings-on of the Lab in beautiful High Definition (HD) video images and surround sound audio. New productions produced in the Macaulay Library are premiered periodically in this multimedia theater.

The Sanctuary – 12 minutes ©2005
Shot in stunning High Definition (HD) video, this brand new production chronicles the changing seasons at Sapsucker Woods Sanctuary, home to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. This is literally a bird’s eye view of the diverse plant and animal life in this marvelous wooded wetland habitat.
