Update April 14: Entries are now closed for the photo contest—but you can still vote for your favorites over at We Love Birds!
Photo Contest post as of April 6: We’re just under a week away from the deadline for the We Love Birds photo contest. So if you haven’t gotten your entry in yet, waste no time! You have until Monday evening, April 12, to submit one photo to the contest. The winners will be chosen by the community, and voting will start on Tuesday, April 13. Winners will be announced on Earth Day (April 22).
We Love Birds is an online network of bird watchers and enthusiasts, started by the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Cornell Lab. It’s a great place to get together and talk about birds, bird watching, conservation, and the outdoors. Photos are a big part of the site, with more than 3,000 uploaded by users since the site launched in February.
So, ahem, Birdshare members? Here’s a great place to send your favorite photo (one entry per person please). I’d send my own, but Cornell Lab and NRDC employees are not eligible. And frankly, yours are a lot better. See you at WeLoveBirds.org!

I will look forward to seeing the entries and winners. On a related subject, at Buttercup Farms not long ago, I was so pleased to hear birdsong everywhere. If you go to “Listening to Spring” at http://www.rainingacorns.blogspot.com, you’ll see how important the Cornell Lab was in helping me to identify and share all the sounds I heard. Thanks so much for the wonderful work you do!
Hi – glad we could help. That’s a lovely and evocative post. Thanks for sharing it.
It’s going to be very difficult to pick a winner – They’re all fantastic photos!
