The rain forests of the Amazon basin contain the most diverse bird faunas of any area on earth. This disk presents the vocalizations of 99 bird species found in the lowland rain forests of the western Amazon basin. Our emphasis here is on birds of mature forest, although we have included the voices of a few species, more often heard than seen, that are found in second-growth or the edge of forest.

The geographic area covered by this disk is from southern Peru (departments of Ucayali, Cuzco, Madre de Dios and Puno) into northern Bolivia (departments of Pando, La Paz, and Beni). The distributions of many of these species extend beyond this area, however, so the disk will prove useful as well in adjacent areas.

Companion guides "Voices of Amazonian Birds" Volumes one and two are available as well.
