and current students represented the Lab brilliantly at the American Ornithological Society conference in East Lansing, Michigan. Current undergrad Sarah Toner presented her work &#8216;Behavioral change and ornamental plumage in the non\u2010breeding season in a tropical passerine&#8217; &#8212; research that also included lab member Facundo Fernandez-Duque. Recent grad Sarah Dzielski presented a poster of her work on mercury contamination in birds in NY. Lab alum Sarah MacLean is closing in on her Ph.D., presenting her research on avian community changes in the Central Valley of California over the past century. And alum Caleb Arellano presented his work on the behavior of Green-rumped Parotlets in the nest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A highlight of the annual conference is the &#8216;Jeopardy&#8217; style quiz bowl featuring questions with an ornithological twist. The long tradition of Cornell dominance is this competition was perpetuated by the new champions, Sarah Toner and Andrew Dreelin.
