The Selection Editor has a standardized view, with a toolbox on the left and a spectrogram and Event table on the right:<br>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" height=\"250\" data-src=\"https:\/\/confluence.cornell.edu\/download\/attachments\/627148145\/Screenshot%202026-01-28%20at%202.34.47%E2%80%AFPM.png?version=1&amp;modificationDate=1769630717897&amp;api=v2\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Spectrogram<\/strong>&nbsp;display provides a window into the sound file with controls to pan and zoom thru a source signal (a collection of sound files). The mouse can be used to draw selection boxes around notable artifacts and things of interest. These boxes are called Event Selections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Event Table<\/strong>&nbsp;sits below the Spectrogram and shows all the Event Selections a user has made. The tables lists events with columns containing the Start and End Timestamps, as well as Low and High Frequency bounds for each event. The table also allows a user to add Annotation columns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is where the user can begin the annotation process, by building up a list of Events, and adding Annotations to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a few different Toolboxes available to the user for use in this area:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Configuration (the gear icon)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FreeForm &#8211; The basic tools for creating event selections and doing some basic annotating of those selections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stamp &#8211; Provides options for a stamping tool of which allows the user to quick build a list of notable events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"RavenAnnotateDocumentation-Configuration\">Configuration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Configuration tab allows the user to configure the display of the Spectrogram. The options mainly deal with turning on and off axis labels. There will potentially be more options added here in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"RavenAnnotateDocumentation-FreeForm\">FreeForm<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The FreeForm tab provides the basic tools for drawing and annotating Event Selections. This basic tool allows the user to draw selections by clicking and dragging the mouse in the Spectrogram area to create the bounds of the selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s an example of a selection drawn that hasn\u2019t been committed yet:<br>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" height=\"250\" data-src=\"https:\/\/confluence.cornell.edu\/download\/attachments\/627148145\/Screenshot%202026-01-28%20at%2010.34.40%E2%80%AFAM.png?version=1&amp;modificationDate=1769632056853&amp;api=v2\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tool panel has options for selecting which Annotation Keymap preset to use (for providing keyboard shortcuts for annotating with) and the ability to auto-fill annotation columns with values.<br>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" height=\"250\" data-src=\"https:\/\/confluence.cornell.edu\/download\/attachments\/627148145\/Screenshot%202026-01-26%20at%2011.12.40%E2%80%AFAM.png?version=1&amp;modificationDate=1769632080471&amp;api=v2\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u2018Keymap Preset\u2019 label shows what Annotation Keymap is currently selected, and provides a button (keyboard icon) to access the Annotation Keymap dialog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u2018Add Column\u2019 button provides an easy way to add a new annotation column to the Event table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"RavenAnnotateDocumentation-AnnotationKeymapDialog\">Annotation Keymap Dialog<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Annotation Keymap dialog:<br>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" height=\"250\" data-src=\"https:\/\/confluence.cornell.edu\/download\/attachments\/627148145\/Screenshot%202026-01-23%20at%2011.13.32%E2%80%AFAM.png?version=1&amp;modificationDate=1769632122235&amp;api=v2\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"RavenAnnotateDocumentation-Stamp\">Stamp<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Stamp tab provides a very useful tool for quickly defining resusable stamps to provide a quick and easy way to build up the list of Event Selections. The stamps can either be drawn or created from an existing selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stamps are useful for creating Event selections that have the same event bounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"RavenAnnotateDocumentation-StampingToolboxcontains:\">Stamping Toolbox contains:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preset &#8211; Shows the current preset stamp collection.
