At the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, my role involves developing a machine learning-based algorithm to identify frog species using bioacoustic data. The goal of this project is to address the impacts of climate change on biodiversity by aiding in the development of conservation strategies. I utilize deep learning techniques, similar to those used in bird identification, to analyze and classify frog calls. My work is motivated by the need to better understand and protect frog populations, whose habitats are increasingly threatened.
I have always had a deep passion for ornithology, the study of birds. This interest took root during my high school years when I witnessed the destruction of bird habitats due to real estate development. Motivated to make a positive impact, I immersed myself in studying avifaunal diversity and conservation.
This journey led me to a significant research project focused on preserving avifaunal diversity at Santragachi Jheel in Howrah, West Bengal. I authored a report titled Preserving Avifaunal Diversity in Santragachi Jheel, Howrah, West Bengal, which was published in the monthly bulletin of The Asiatic Society. The report explored the migratory bird species found in the wetland and proposed a comprehensive management plan for its conservation.
My passion for ornithology eventually introduced me to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, where I was deeply impressed by the pioneering work in bird identification and preservation. While birds are clear indicators of climate change, reflected in their population and migration patterns, I realized that frog bioacoustics also serve as a critical, though less studied, measure of environmental shifts. This realization inspired me to contribute to this vital area of research at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

I am a great enthusiast of football and love watching the best thriller movies in my spare time. I also greatly enjoy listening to rock music and am an avid fan of the band Pink Floyd.
