Genomics • Bioinformatics • Evolution • Population ecology

I use genomic methods to study how environment shapes adaptation in songbirds. I’m particularly interested in understanding how ecological and evolutionary processes drive patterns of differentiation among populations and subspecies and how we can harness this information to refine predictions on their capacity to persist under future climate change. To date, my research has focused on integrating whole-genome sequences, spatial modeling, and demographic data to understand how genetic variation, environment, and life-history interact to influence population persistence in song sparrows.

Beyond the Cornell Lab

Outside of work, I spend a lot of my free time trail running, mountain biking, and skiing–or recovering from doing all of the above poorly.
