The Cornell Lab of Ornithology offers a variety of programs and events for visitors of all ages. Please see our events calendar (below) or call 1-800-843-BIRD for more information.

Tours are typically offered from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please check the event calendar to see if a tour is available during your visit.
Guided tours offer visitors an overview of the history of the Lab. Admire the exhibits and world-class art in the Visitor Center; view specimens from the Cornell University Museum of Vertebrates; and learn about the various departments and sciences we study at the Lab.
Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:30–10 a.m. Led by members of the Cayuga Bird Club, we’ll walk the trails at Sapsucker Woods looking and listening for birds. Bring your binoculars and dress for the weather!
Exploration Stations are offered on most Saturday mornings from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. Please check the event calendar to see if an Exploration Station is happening during your visit.
Investigate different topics with the help of a friendly volunteer. You’ll find fun and learning for the whole family, featuring a mix of display items, hands-on activities, and ideas for bird-related pastimes at home. Topics include Bird ID, Feathers, Feeding Adaptations, Bird Diversity, and Bring Birds Back. It’s all free, and you can drop in for as long or as short as you like! Activities are appropriate for a wide range of ages. Adults should remain present with their children.

The Lab has a long history of hosting interesting and engaging seminars. Speakers include Cornell Lab staff, book authors, and distinguished scientists from around the world. View our video archive of past seminars.
Join us on the second Friday of the month from 10:30–11 a.m. in the Adelson Library for readings of bird-themed books from the library’s children’s collection. Ideal for kids ages 2–5 and their families. Adults should remain present with their children. Please check the event calendar to see if a Story Time is happening during your visit.
