November 15 – “eBird Explorers” Choose Your Own Adventure: K-5 & 6-12

Discover our latest curricula suite, eBird Explorers. These four, grade-banded curricula provide educators with fun, hands-on lessons that connect kids to nature through the world of birds. Each grade-band offers youth the opportunity to make careful observations, collect and explore data and patterns, and build STEM practices, all with standards aligned science content. For this month’s webinar, we will introduce you to the curriculum suite and eBird and break out into two sessions, one for K-5 and one for 6-12.
In the K-5 eBird Explorers Adventure, you will:
Build literacy—and scientific literacy—through schoolyard exploration and citizen science. We’ll share our newest eBird Explorers curricula for K-2 and 3-5 teachers. Receive access to free lessons that will support you in teaching bird ID, participating in eBird, and meeting science and ELA standards.
In the 6-12 eBird Explorers Adventure, you will:
Discover how you can engage your middle and high school students in the eBird citizen-science project with our latest eBird Explorers kit. Discover lessons that explore the complexity of biodiversity and human impacts on the environment, and how citizen science can help us understand our world.
