Webinars

K-12 Education offers a variety of free webinars open to all educators. All our fun and interactive webinars provide background content, highlight new and relevant educational resources, and allow discussion for successful implementation of such information and activities. Each webinar is roughly 50 minutes with 10 minutes allocated for questions. Anyone can receive a free letter of completion for one contact hour if they attend a live webinar. Please email K12Lab@cornell.edu with the title of the live webinar you attended.

Bird Academy Courses

eBird Essentials Course

The free course provides necessary background information for any educator interested in using eBird. To support this course, we’ve developed an eBird Essentials for Educators handout. We’ve laid out the best activities and advice from educators to give you the essentials of using eBird with students.

Let’s Go Outside! How to Connect Kids with Birds and Nature Course

This course includes nature activities, instructional videos, recommended books and apps, and more. With a whole host of ideas from seasoned environmental educators on how to keep kids curious and grow their interest in nature, you’ll be able to quickly build your confidence in getting outside with your child.

Continuing Education Units

  • Anyone who completes the “Let’s Go Outside! How to Connect Kids with Birds and Nature” course or the “eBird Essentials” course will automatically receive a certificate of completion auto-generated through Bird Academy.
  • Once you complete the course, you will have access to a form to request the CEUs. Credits will only be given to participants who complete all course assignments and receive an 80% or higher grade.
