Stephanie Somerville Zamora, K-12 Program Assistant

Stephanie was born and raised in Costa Rica where she developed her passion for nature, which led her to earn a B.S. in Biology from the University of Costa Rica. After graduating, she worked in various capacities: leading environmentally focused field trips for children from pre-K to sixth-grade; giving lectures on biodiversity and natural and cultural history; and guiding educational tourism groups while raising awareness of local and global environmental issues. Stephanie also earned an M.S. in Natural Resources with an emphasis in Environmental Education and Interpretation from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. During her time in Wisconsin, she worked at Schmeeckle Reserve as a graduate assistant researching citizen science in nature centers. Stephanie is passionate about conservation, environmental education, and interpretation. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, camping, identifying plants and wildlife, reading, and researching genealogy.
