As the K-12 Learning Coordinator, I develop and deliver transformational training for educators that supports them in connecting students to nature, strengthens their skills in using participatory (citizen) science, and increases their comfort in guiding students in inquiry investigations. I was the project lead for Students as Scientists: Nature-based Inquiry<\/em>, and had the pleasure of working with an amazing array of teachers in this grade-banded version. I also actively work on increasing diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice at the Lab and within our team. I\u2019m passionate about helping youth connect to the outdoors and building scientifically literate students, and through working with educators, I am able to multiply my efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before coming to the Cornell Lab, I taught groups of all ages about nature at the Francis Beidler Forest and the Walden Woods Project. Prior to working in education, I conducted scientific studies on water resources throughout the US. I graduated from Missouri State University with my MS and BS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I enjoy hiking, reading, exploring new places and cultures, and spending time with family and friends when I\u2019m not at work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
