It engages kids in scientific study and real data collection through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology\u2019s participatory science projects. If your land trust has an education or outreach program, you may be interested in exploring the K-12 Education program&#8217;s resources and professional development opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What can the K-12 Education program offer land trusts?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The K-12 Education program provides educators with free resources for learners of all grade levels, along with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.birds.cornell.edu\/k12\/science-kits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">curriculum and activity kits<\/a> that cost a minimal fee. These resources encourage kids to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make observations and answer their own questions about nature using the scientific process<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spend time outdoors, connecting with nature by focusing on the fascinating sights, sounds, and behaviors of birds<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand the real-world importance of the data they collect and enter online, which helps scientists understand and conserve birds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The program\u00a0offers a variety of resources for all types of educators no matter the setting.
