I am a member of the engineering team at the K. Lisa Yang Center for Conservation Bioacoustics. My areas of responsibility include the mechanical design of customized autonomous audio recording devices, system testing and integration, rapid prototyping of custom electrical and mechanical hardware, system troubleshooting, and the occasional mentoring of students and staff.
I started out as a volunteer with the Yang Center back in 2009, and was hired on as a temporary professional in 2010 to create CAD files of the components for the various recording systems that were in use at that time. My unique skill set earned me a full-time position as an electronics technician and draftsman for the Yang Center late in 2010. In 2013, I was promoted to the position of electromechanical designer and continued to work in that capacity until earning the position of research engineer in 2015.
