On 18 March 2000, my kids and I were looking for a Common Raven nest in Lick Brook Gorge, south of Ithaca, NY.

A pair has nested there for several years, and they should have been on eggs. It took a while to find the nest, but I eventually did. It was active, but not exactly what I expected.

This is what we saw:

This is not a raven. I guess the ravens won't be nesting in this gorge this year.
