Product Lockups
Stacked
Products that are managed by the Lab should use this official logo lockup in most instances, and when space. If you need a product lock-up not shown here, please submit a ticket.
Stacked Construction
Product names stacked with the Cornell Lab logo should be left aligned and set in Avenir Heavy at the same type size as the text in the Lab wordmark.
- Extend the pipe below the text to equal the space between the “C” in the logo and the top of the pipe.
- Extend the height of the pipe to reach the top of the sapsucker.
- The logo and product name should be left aligned and spaced apart from the pipe at the same distance from the top of the pipe to the “C” in the logo.
- Space between the product name and logo equals the height of the “C” in the wordmark.
- Product names should be title case and set in Avenir Heavy with -3% letter spacing.
Stacked Clearspace
To preserve the integrity of the product lockup, always maintain clear space around it — at least the height of the letter “C” in the Cornell Lab wordmark.
Stacked Minimum Size
At small sizes, the sapsucker symbol becomes difficult to see. Take care to never use a product lockup smaller than the heights shown here.
Horizontal
When a horizontal lockup is needed, use this version of the product lockup.
Horizontal Construction
In horizontal lockups the product name and the Lab logo are aligned along their vertical centers and divided by the pipe. Product names are set in Avenir Heavy at the same size as the text in the Lab wordmark.
- The Lab logo and product name should be aligned at their vertical centers.
- The product name should be spaced apart from the pipe at distance equal to to the distance between the top of the sapsucker and the product name.
- Extend the pipe to align with the top and bottom of the sapsucker logo.
- Product names set in Avenir Heavy with -3% letterspacing and are the same size as the text in the Lab logo.
- The distance between the logo and the pipe should equal half the distance between the product name and the pipe to account for negative space created by the sapsucker.
Horizontal Clearspace

Use these lockups only on the website in the sticky navigation bar, after the Cornell Lab logo has been introduced.

This lockup is constructed by removing the Lab wordmark from the horizontal product lockup.
- The product name should be spaced apart from the pipe at distance equal to to the distance between the top of the sapsucker and the product name.
- Extend the pipe to align with the top and bottom of the sapsucker in the logo.
- Product names are set in Avenir Heavy with -3% letterspacing and are the same size as the text in the Lab logo.
- The distance between the logo and the pipe should equal half the distance between the product name and the pipe to account for negative space created by the sapsucker.
- To construct the abbreviated horizontal product lockup, remove the wordmark from the Lab logo.

App
Use these lockups only on App interfaces in the upper navigation bar, after the Cornell Lab logo has been introduced on the splash screen.
App Construction
- Product names should maintain the same proportions to the sapsucker as in the Lab logo.
- Maintain spacing between the sapsucker and product name by the width of the “n” in the Lab wordmark. This spacing is slightly wider than in the Lab logo to account for taller letter forms.
App Clearspace
To preserve the integrity of the product app lockup, always maintain clear space around it — at least the height of the first letter in the product name.
