Binoculars Mini-Grants
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology cordially invites Latin American and Caribbean organizations or groups to apply for our mini-grants for binoculars. If you are a project coordinator and require binoculars, this mini-grant could help you in your activities. These mini-grants provide funds for buying binoculars to support educational and birding activities in your community. We are especially interested in supporting organizations and groups that work with low-income, at-risk, or underserved communities.
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology will consider applications that meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be part of a Latin American or Caribbean organization or group conducting activities within this region. Note: Binoculars will NOT be awarded to individuals.
- The proposal should include educational activities about birds for the community and/or bird monitoring.
- The binoculars should be used and shared with community members in bird participatory-science activities and data collection for a Cornell Lab of Ornithology project such as eBird (aVerAves, or other associated platforms), Merlin Bird ID, NestWatch, or Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC).
