Binoculars Mini-Grants

PAU Campeche

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology cordially invites Latin American and Caribbean organizations or groups to apply for our 2025 mini-grants to buy binoculars. These mini-grants will award up to $650 US dollars per organization or group to purchase binoculars. If you are a member of an organization or group in Latin America or The Caribbean, coordinate or facilitate educational activities in your community, and need binoculars to share with your participants, you are welcome to apply. We are especially interested in supporting organizations and groups that work with low-income, at-risk, or marginalized communities.

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology will consider applications that meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be part of a Latin American or Caribbean organization or group conducting activities within this region. Mini-grants are not awarded to individual applicants;
  • The proposal should include educational activities about birds. The mini-grant funds do not cover the costs of the activities; they only cover the cost of the binoculars.
  • The binoculars will be used and shared with community members in educational activities about birds and participatory (citizen) science activities such as eBird or partner portals (eBird Caribbean, eBird Central America, etc.), Merlin Bird ID, NestWatch, or Great Big Backyard Count (GBBC).

The call to apply for the 2025 mini-grants to buy binoculars is closed.
