Mini-grants

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology cordially invites organizations and groups in Latin America and the Caribbean Islands to apply for mini-grants to support educational activities in their communities. We are especially interested in supporting organizations and groups that work with low-income and underserved communities. Please, check the five types of mini-grants below for deadlines, application requirements, and links.

The 2026 mini-grant application process is now closed. All applicants will receive an email notification indicating the outcome of their proposal on Monday, December 15, 2025. On the same day, the list of finalists will be published on this page and on the pages for each mini-grant type (below).

    Mini-grants for festivals, community events or series of activities organized and facilitated by your organization or group.

    Mini-grants to provide funding for binoculars to be used in educational activities and birding in your community.

    These mini-grants focus on promoting events that center justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in birdwatching and ornithology.
