Learning Through Citizen Science: Enhancing Opportunities by Design A publication from the National Academies Press that discusses the potential of citizen science to support science learning and identifies promising practices and programs that exemplify the promising practices. This report also lays out a research agenda that can fill gaps in the current understanding of how citizen science can support science learning and enhance science education.
Citizen Science.gov is a website designed to accelerate the use of crowdsourcing and citizen science across the U.S. government.
The Principles of Citizen Science is from the Measuring Impacts of Citizen Science (MICS) and the European Citizen Science Association. MICS is a collaboration working to develop an integrated platform of metrics and instruments to measure costs and benefits of citizen science.
In addition to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s citizen science projects, there are many different online sites where you can identify a citizen science project that you may contribute to. A simple online search will give you many different results. Here are a few just to get you started.
