Kevin Ebert

My focus is on streamlining new releases of the Merlin and eBird Mobile apps through beta testing new developments and supporting the project management for a variety of exciting new features for Merlin. I also help connect the community to our team by monitoring the help desk and reporting new issues and bugs to our team of developers. I have been using eBird and Merlin for over 10 years now, and I want everyone, whether they are brand-new or long-time users, to have the same great experience that I have had!

I was first hooked on birdwatching starting in middle school as a member of Maryland’s Youth Maryland Ornithological Society. As a young birder, attending the Young Birder’s Event at the Cornell Lab made me certain that I wanted to build a career focused on birds and their conservation. After earning my degree from Cornell University in 2020, I spent two years conducting fieldwork with Golden-cheeked Warblers before transitioning into a project management role, where I provided expertise to ensure that federal projects complied with various environmental laws and regulations. Now, I’m thrilled to return to Ithaca and support the work of Merlin and eBird in connecting global audiences with the magic of birds!
