Expertise

Science Communication • Outreach & Engagement • Education

I am part of the Bird Cams team at the Lab! I love connecting people with nature and the live streaming cameras are a fantastic way to do that. By offering up-close looks at wild birds through the cams, people all over the world can learn about these animals and in turn, start to care about protecting them. I support the team by assisting with social engagement, helping with events, and creating content from our live cam streams.

I worked for many years as a naturalist and environmental educator in Charleston, SC before making my move north in 2023. My interests include science communication, historical data, and nest monitoring.

 Education

B.A., History & Environmental Science, College of Charleston

Spark Moment

My favorite bird is the Prothonotary Warbler! Getting to experience these incredible birds up close as a naturalist, guide and nest monitor has always been one of the highlights of my career. I spent many years learning about these beautiful cavity-nesting warblers whilst wading through my beloved cypress-tupelo swamps. Aside from birds, my favorite animal is the American Alligator!
