Being Friendly • Talking About Things to Do When Visiting the Lab

After attending Cornell and working in Alumni Affairs, I am working on a very part-time basis at the Lab front desk. I assist visitors to the Lab on weekends and do my best to make them feel welcomed and to share my enthusiasm for the work at the Lab and for all things bird related. I also have worked in tourism for the past 20 years and travel a lot.

Spark Bird

My Dad was a New York City fireman. He brought home (in a box) a pigeon with a broken wing. We (five kids) nursed the bird back to health, named him LeRoy and trained him to fly to Queens on Sundays to my Nana’s house. He would fly home and beat us every time. Thus began my affection for birds.
