At the lab, I work on the BirdFlow project, where we model species movements at population scales throughout the year. I’m especially interested in understanding the migration connectivity of birds, and how the strength of those connections relates to species’ population changes over time. This will help us understand how impacts (e.g., climate change, habitat loss) on one part of their annual cycle can cascade into the entire population range.

Beyond the Lab

I’m all about enjoying special moments with my camera, foraging for edible mushrooms, birding, climbing, dancing, and carving through snow. Toss in a road trip, a tent under the stars, a good hike, and a grouse hidden behind the bushes… I cannot ask for a better day.
