Services and Instruction

Adelson Library ServicesThe Adelson Library provides services to Cornell University faculty, staff, and students consistent with those provided by the larger Cornell University Libraries, but on a much smaller scale, with a personal touch.

Hasten your search with a prepared bibliography. Request specialized individual instruction using a database or a software program in the privacy of your office. Request classroom or group instruction as you begin your project. Formal workshops are tailored to the needs of the Lab of Ornithology staff. Researchers at a distance who are not affiliated with Cornell will benefit from Free Online Resources. Lab members are encouraged to use the library and help develop services suited to their research needs. Visiting students, researchers and birders are always welcome.

The Adelson Library also offers some services to children and their families. A reading program for children ages 4 to 10 is often offered during local school breaks. A collection of children’s books is available at child eye level for browsing by junior birders.
