The Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s K-12 Education team strives to be inclusive in our actions and words. It has become apparent that to best meet that goal, change is required. We, along with some other organizations we respect, are transitioning away from the term citizen science to participatory science because we recognize that all participants provide crucial crowd-sourced scientific data.
